Feeding Stray Dogs in the Philippine Slums

Feeding Stray Dogs in the Philippine Slums

Every day, thousands of stray dogs wander through crowded neighborhoods in the Philippines searching for scraps, safety, and a little kindness. Many of them were born on the streets, while others were abandoned when families could no longer afford to care for them.

During one of our recent visits, we walked through a small riverside community where stray dogs often gather near makeshift homes. With the help of local volunteers, we brought warm food and clean water — a simple gesture that brings comfort to animals who rarely receive it.

It’s amazing how quickly their eyes soften when they realize they’re safe, even just for a moment. Some wag their tails immediately, others approach slowly, unsure but hopeful. But every one of them deserves love.

We don’t just feed stray dogs — we listen to the community, support kind locals who care for these animals, and raise awareness about responsible pet care and spay/neuter efforts. Small acts make a real, visible difference, and these missions remind us why we created Puppur in the first place.

Our rescue efforts aren’t perfect and they're still growing, but we believe that consistent care — even in small steps — leads to lasting change.

Thank you for being part of this journey. When you support us, you’re supporting them too.
